The Delhi government has strengthened dust control regulations by making the use of high-density green nets mandatory at all construction and demolition (C&D) sites across the city. The move is aimed at reducing air pollution caused by construction dust, especially harmful PM2.5 and PM10 particles.
Under the new guidelines, all project sites must install green protective screens with a minimum density of 100 GSM (grams per square meter). Authorities believe these high-density nets will help contain dust more effectively and prevent it from spreading into nearby residential and commercial areas.
The decision follows updated directions issued by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), which has been pushing stricter pollution-control measures in Delhi NCR. Along with stricter on-ground enforcement, the government is also upgrading its monitoring system through the improved “Dust Portal 2.0” to track compliance at construction sites more efficiently.
